Update This will now be held in the shelter 3 area.
Are you interested in getting started with draft? If you’ve already started, would you like to get some practice around other dogs and some feedback from experienced trainers? Our instructor will be Jennifer Brightbill, chair of the BMDCA Draft Committee, a draft judge, and experienced in training both her own dogs and helping others train theirs.
Harnesses, carts and other training equipment will be provided for you to use the day of the clinic. Along with your dog, each person MUST bring along a helper to assist them as they go through the training process. This is really important for your dog’s safety and confidence, so please get your helper lined up! Your helper will assist in the actual exercises and is critical to the training process. We’ll start with a presentation from Jennifer about carting basics, and then move on to some hands-on training with the dogs.
COVID19 Safety Protocols will be followed. Masks and social distancing will be practiced. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell in any way or may have been exposed to anyone feeling unwell. Refunds will be available if you are unable to attend due to illness or COVID19 safety concerns. If this event should need to be cancelled or postponed, your entry fee will be either saved for the new date or returned per you preference.
